Animals are held for a 24 hour period AFTER we confirm the availability of an animal. We reserve the right to release animals for sale before the expiration of this 24 hour period; mostly typically this occurs on animal's released in email notification lists, where 50+ interested parties may be notified at the same time, yet, it is always a possibility on animals in particularly high demand. During that 24 hour period, we ask that you PayPal us (HighPlainsHerp@Gmail.com) at least a 25% deposit on the cost of the animal(s) desired, at which time shipping and a schedule for the completion of payment can be discussed. We ship by Delta Air Cargo and UPS Next Day Air only; sorry, no exceptions. We typically can only ship within the 48 continental states. We have shipped to Alaska previously in cases where next day arrival could be guranteed, though this is not always the case, and never seems to be the case for Hawaii. We are not setup at this time to export our animals outside of the United States. Orders valued over $100 before shipping costs are exempt from the $10 box charge; live animal purchases valued at less than $100 before shipping costs will have this fee included in their total balance due.

   If you do not have PayPal accessibility, we can accept credit cards by phone. Please email us with your phone number, and the best time to reach you. This will preserve your spot in line on desired animal(s). We do not typically accept money orders, they fail to arrive in a timely fashion the majority of the time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have been burnt too many times by folks expressing an interest in animals without the intent to purchase. With all that in mind, we are generally very reasonable, please let us know if you require other arrangements.

   Price quotes on this site are based on the purchase of individual animals or sexual pairs. Some animals are only available in pairs; these will be notated as ($ xxx / pair). Quantity discounts may be made available at our discretion, but please keep in mind that with our near wholesale pricing, three (3) or fewer specimens of a given species rarely constitute a quantity. Occasionally we may make long-term captive (LTC) animals from our collection available for purchase. The phrase long-term captive is used to refer to animals of wild origin maintained in our collection for more than four (4) continuous months. These animals may or may not have been treated for internal and/or external parasistes during that time, and will vary by the individual and species. As this is a commodity market, be aware that daily price adjustments are subject to occur. We frequently post animals for sale in the classifieds ads on kingsnake.com; the majority of the time, the animals described are mutually listed in the ad and here on our site. In the event that a price is different in the classified ad than what we have posted on this site, the ad will always be considered the correct price. This is regardless of that price being higher or lower.

   We guarantee that animals purchased from High Plains Herpetoculture, Inc. will arrive live and in good condition – this must be determined by the buyer upon receipt. Buyers have four (4) hours to notify High Plains Herpetoculture, Inc. of live receipt, and twenty four (24) hours to determine that the animals are as they have been represented. If unsatisified with your order, animals may be returned to us, in good condition, at our expense.

    If there is an issue with your shipment, notify us immediately and we will attempt to correct the problem. We provide our customers with information on the health, sex, temperament, quirks, and habits of our animals. If an animal's sex is in question, you will be notified and may decline the purchase. With this in mind, some species, especially monitors and some snakes, are particularly difficult to sex at young ages. We do our very best to ensure proper sexing, but please check your animal's upon reciept - it is much easier for us to work with you/ replace animals the week we ship out than it is months or years down the road. Please be advised that stress from shipping and a new environment may cause animals to change behavior patterns, feeding habits, etc. Please notify us of your concerns and we will do everything we can (within reason) to help.

    We will not ship during extreme weather. We prefer to delay shipment and protect the best interests of the animal(s) involved.
